Kayak Pine Island Conservation Area

The Pine Island Conservation Area in Merritt Island, FL provides interior marsh ponds with 2 kayak trails and a relaxing atmosphere to experience the local wildlife. Some of the habitats include: salt marshes, mangrove forests, cabbage palm hammocks, pine flatwoods and hardwood hammocks. The variety of habitats offer the ultimate in housing for the bottlenose dolphin, alligator, west Indian Manatee, gopher tortoise, northern river otters, bobcat, and eastern indigo snake.
The Pine Island Conservation area is listed as a State of Florida Great Florida Birding Trail for migratory songbirds, migratory Blue-Winged Teal, the American Widgeon, waders, shorebirds, Woodstork, and Osprey.
